The WannaCry Attack

An unprecedented attack, destined to be transcribed in the Black Book of Computer Attacks as the worst of all time: 99 affected countries, 75,000 infected sites. A real disaster with a very heavy consequence and, like in a movie, a young, 22-year-old British, nicknamed "Malware Tech", who turned into a hero by chance and who was able to block the infection of the century by simply buying the pirated domain on which the virus was based.

An isolated and now resolved episode or an event that is to be repeated?

Italy can fortunately say it has been saved from WannaCry's threat, but would we really be ready to deal with a massive propagation of malware without having to suffer heavy consequences, as it happened to other countries such as Russia and Britain?

The answer is: NO.

Although they are at the threshold of their 30th birthday, ransom wares remain the most dangerous malwares and among the most difficult to stem, and they continue to generate about 1 million euros per year to their designers. How to protect yourself then? IKS has solid experience in contrasting these phenomena, and offers dedicated security and support services.

Since 2014, the company has set up a dedicated task force, made up of security specialists and useful technologies in order to support its customers in prevention, but above all, in the event that an infection happens. Find out more at https://www.iks.it/sicurezza.html
